On 18 – 19 March pupils from Winchester College will play continuously for 24 hours to raise big sums for charity. 65 pupils and staff have signed up to perform in the marathon music performance, with the overnight performances being livestreamed to parents.
The event will start at 19:20 on 18 March with a public concert in School featuring a wide range of genre and instruments, played by talented musicians from across the College.
On 19 March there will be an Organ concert, featuring four organists, in the beautiful medieval Chapel from 13:00 - 14:30.
Everyone is welcome and entry to both concerts is via Porters’ Lodge on College Street in Winchester. No ticket is required but there will be a collection at both events as well as sales of merchandise with all funds raised going to two charities.
The first is Winchester Action on Climate Change, which works to help decarbonise Winchester district by working with Winchester council. Pupils recently voted to support this local charity. In addition, moved by recent events, the pupils have chosen to support a second charity: the Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal. All monies raised will be split between the two.
