A lot of practical chemistry goes on at Winchester – and to a very high standard. I’m one of two hard-working technicians who are always facing new challenges. No two days are the same.  

All the boys get the very best exposure to what chemistry is all about. We are lucky to have really well-equipped labs and, as well as our great practicals, we lay on fabulous (and indeed famous) demonstrations. I believe that those boys who go on to study chemistry at university really appreciate what we do for them.  

The teachers are good to work with and the atmosphere in the department is really positive: it’s a good team. I also compare notes with technicians from other schools which helps make sure we continue to provide the best.
