Qs record at Abbey Road

The day before Lockdown 2.0, Wednesday 4 November, an excited group of Quiristers travelled by coach to London to record in the world’s most famous recording studios, Abbey Road.

We were there to record and film carols and anthems for a service, which the Chapel Choir has sung at for several years and would normally take place in December at St Luke's Church, Chelsea. The annual service is organised by the Alice Martineau Appeal in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Recording at Abbey Road was an incredible experience for all the boys (some of whom had previously only sung three services!) and they coped with the rigours of the day tremendously.

The service, to be broadcast as a ticketed event on YouTube on 17 December, will also feature readings from celebrities such as Dame Judi Dench, Damian Lewis, Jane Asher and David Haig . We very much hope many in the Winchester College community can support the work of this excellent charity and enjoy the Qs performance.
